The City of Leavenworth is conducting its annual Free Chlorine Burnout from Sept 8 through Sept 30. This process involves temporarily switching from chloramine disinfection to free chlorine disinfection. During this time, you may notice a chlorine taste or odor in your water. This is harmless and should subside as the flushing process is completed. Additional fire hydrant flushing will take place to expedite the process.
